It’s time to add adventure to your everyday.
And time to say yes to things we’d rather say no and be intentional about avoiding being comfortable all the time.
16 Ways to Add Adventure to your Everyday:
- Add a new breakfast item(s) to your morning ritual for a food adventure.
- Make a detour to, or from, work (no excuses) to change things up.
- Leave your comfort zone. Try a menu item you’ve never had before.
- If there’s a place that has always caught your eye on the way to work, but you’ve still never gone, go, or plan to go!
- Change your get-ready routine! You can change the way you do your hair, your makeup, your commute to work (take a detour), or switch up your go-to if you go out with friends.
- Make a bucket list of things to do within your town. Time to start checking things off.
- Build a Pinterest board! One of your town, and 2 of surrounding towns, or more. Start pinning things to do for places nearby. Get excited about where you live!
- Time to show up–and I’m not talking about work–show up where you’re not expected–like a yoga class, gym class, or a cooking class.
- Go to Meetup.com and see if there is a group of people who want the same adventures as you.
- Check your local city listing for events. Plan to have an adventure.
- Be a first-timer somewhere.
- Adventures can mean learning. Learn something new! You can go on YouTube, or LinkedIn Learning or find a podcast. I listen to Coffee Break Italian podcasts during my commutes–https://radiolingua.com/.
- Pick up a book and devote 10 minutes to immerse yourself in its words.
- If you’re at a new place, ask the server what is the most popular thing to do, or most popular dish to eat.
- Check out Groupon.com for a local adventure at discount prices. It’ll also inform you about places you never knew about.
- Pick a number and use TripAdvisor or Yelp to pick your next adventure.
